New Nuclear? No Thanks…

So the government is going for new nuclear power stations – a rather bizarre decision given they are the only major energy technology that has actually increased in price over the last decade and have become notorious for going vastly over budget.

Whenever the spectre of nuclear power is raised again I always recall how, following its closure, the Yelland power station was suggested as the ideal site for a new nuclear plant – and how, at the same time, Devon’s moors and Lundy were being seriously looked at for dumping nuclear waste.

Given the government’s backing of ‘mini’  nuclear plants Yelland might still be back in the picture – and one wonders if nuclear dumping in Devon might resurface.
